If I remember correctly, Elan is bound by a fairly restrictive set of rules and they cannot mount a hostile take over attempt.

I don't know if $30 would be unreasonable at this stage; you could well be right. However, just to add fuel to this speculative fire, what would Lilly and a few others be likely to do if Elan were to tender for the entire thing? Lilly and others have a substantial interest in this company as well and I believe they have the cash to make the acquisition or at least buy enough to prevent anyone from making the acquisition.

Oh dear, we just made another wave on the chart... Now to see if we repeat the cycle.
