Not only that Kenneth, that analysis was very shallow. It also tries to make some huge connection between asset management & revenue recognition issues to revenue shortfall which are quite unrelated. It wasn't as if they met revenue expectation for the current quarter but came short as result of revenue reversal due to Receivable write offs or prior month adjustment due to aggressive accounting.

The simple problem was that they didn't meet the high revenue growth projection that they put out on a consistent quarterly basis (which for a $40 billion company is very difficult unlike for CSCO or NT).

So the main obvious problem is that the mgmt set unrealistic revenue growth goals and fell short as result. All that means is that the LU share value should never have gone up to $90 (it was over valued) because McGinn's growth projections for a $40 bill company was simply too aggressive to meet given the level of competition and other variables that affect sales growth.

Take LU for what it is .............. solid telecom vendor which will be involved in the communication network build-out no matter what anyone says. The only question is whether McGinn is the CEO to FULLY maximize the potential that LU and Bell Labs possess.
