BTW, the N Atlantic Oscillation has increased to . 2, still a low positive reading. What is strange is that the North Atlantic stations have a relatively high barometric reading during fairly stormy weather and the Azores stations have similar readings with rather nice weather.
These "weird" readings tend to make me discount any increase in the NAO, small as it is, likely the trend is still down for the NAO and East Coast US temps. It has been predictive so far this winter.
