Markets are not efficient obviously and that is what gives us a chance to make a buck.. As for TERN, I think their announcement with i-cable and high speed internet in HK is what is giving them a buzz last couple of days... HK is a huge market and this is an important win.. I do think CMTO will have to show some big wins like that to break out of this 20+ range that we are stuck in....

G'day all - I just got into CMTO today. So, I think CMTO prospect is good. However, I am not sure how CMTO and TERN are necessarily related, even though they both occupy some of the cable space. TERN seems to have a lot more exposures these days with its Telegate acquisition and partnership for I-cable in HK [voluntary disclosure: I do not have position in TERN.] TERN is a momentum play, which can garner more momentum by using its high currency [in stock price] to expand its business. I see CMTO is a turn around [as usual, I am late to the party,] play yet to gather momentum.

To catch up with TERN, in terms of momentum, CMTO will probably need a broader product mix as well as high visibility partnerships. I mean, CMTO is a bargain right now, but bargain is not a good way to help share appreciation. After all, so what if CMTO could sell more cable modems, if she would not have alternate revenue streams to accelerate her growth pattern. That said, I think CMTO is still a young company capable of morphing. Or be acquired. Just my unemotional 2c.

best, Bosco

J:

SO the people think of TERN as the Qualcom of cable modems right? SO they will go to 1000.

Bingo. This sort of thinking, along with monthly mentions of TERN by Mr. Gilder, accounts for much of the multiple disparity btw the stocks.
