James, i have no doubt politics play an important role in the Fed's decision-making process. the bubble however has taken on a life of it's own - it could burst no matter what the Fed does. the Fed will be trying to avoid being blamed for it's bursting at all costs, as no doubt a big hunt for scapegoats will be on once it happens.
