I hear Microsoft may have done a good job on W2K. Your INTC uptick optimism indicates you think this will lead to even more demand for IABG MP's. Perhaps you expect W2K to lead IA processors to new arenas and to upgrade buyers. Why? To the first argument, what about W2K do you think gets it places not already on NT? To the second, if W2K is better than NT4, where's the new bottleneck that necessitates upgrades? -mb

Tony:

Didn't someone on this thread bail out of AMAT earlier this week on the merger news? Looks like a bad move - AMAT up $11+ today.

Tony Ref- <You may just get a chance to buy more puts, if you like to buy them on upticks. >

Tony, Intel closed yesterday at $91, and opened today at $98 plus. Thus there was a LAARGE GAP of $7. Remember the famous GAP theory, that every GAP must be filled! Maybe the shorts should take comfort in that, and Short Intel some more.

Tony, re: MSFT Win 2000

<Despite the early release, Microsoft is pulling out all the stops for the official launch event, Windows 2000 Conference & Expo, which runs from Feb. 15-17 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Dell chief executive Michael Dell will deliver the opening address while Compaq CEO Michael Capellas will have the keynote address. Microsoft chairman Bill Gates will give the Windows 2000 launch address.>

One thing about Microsoft, they know how to do a product launch with impact. Great marketers.
