bgr, ask the average investor if they know what chained dollars are. then ask the pros. i bet less than 10% of the pros have even hear of the concept. hey, it is only half of gdpgrowth, the basis for any and all positive productivity arguments and the reason why folks reason inflation can stay low.

not that big a deal, huh?

we agree the readers have a responsibility. however, most folks are busy, no attempt is made to highlight the manipulation and the folks that do it KNOW this and do it on purpose. why? it works.

<<The assumptions to any study (even in hard sciences) may be tweaked. But, if they are published, the author of the study may be accused of fibbing if and only if the data was massaged to come to a predetermined conclusion when the assumptions are applied. (If the assumptions are not published it is a different story altogether, of course.) If data was not massaged and assumptions used are clearly published, the conclusions reached are not untrue by any means whatsoever. The assumptions may be shot down, but that's all.>>

What is your point?

I am a terrible bowler. I bowled only occasionally! Whenever I asked my captain for a fielder at Point, he used to say, "No point." I can understand how he felt each time I engage you in a discussion. -g-
