I'm now reinstating my "Strong Buy" opinion on Benz. Talked with Bob Herlin at length on Friday and IMO they are doing all the right things. Some are painful, such as farming out the Old Ocean prospect, but they have little margin for error at this point so they were smart to step aside and let the big boys do the drilling.

Glad to have you aboard Starship Benz!

We should hear this week about the spudding of their next Oakvale Dome well. This one is a developmental well but should have just as much production as the others. This one well could increase their overall net production by about 50%. With some luck we could hear about the results of this well before the current quarter is over.

Biggest thing that has me stoked on BZG is that they have now put the company "in play" and there are a lot of companies that are looking for acquisitions at this point.

Things will be a lot clearer when they announce 4Q numbers and year-end reserves. I understand that this is expected to occur next month sometime. It will not be long before all that C$.15 stock that is currently flooding the market, gets snapped up for good.

archi,

Are you still in this turkey? I'm still very positive on the stock but am now lowering it to a "buy" from a "strong buy" based solely on price appreciation.

The stock has gone up 50% in 6 trading days and a retracement is likely. They are nearing the zones of interest in their Oakvale Dome well and if they get some gas kicks out there next week that should re-ignite some buying.

But the past inability of this stock to hold its gains causes me to cool my jets a bit. Right now my hottest O&G stocks are Panaco (PANA) and Petroquest (PQUE). Wondering if you have ever looked and those, and if so, what you think of them.
