JRI, excellent post and right on target! I think Dell has lived off a reputation of flawless execution and may have gotten too cocky. They feel they do not have to comment on anal-ysts views, but the anal-ysts are winning and we the shareholders are losing. It is time to end the silence and give us some positive PR!

:o)

GTW warned early this month and put the blame on INTC.
If DELL started commenting on every analysts negative report, it would not be good. There is also potential problems with DELL rebutting speculative, negative reports before INTC reported. Presumably, DELL is on good terms with INTC and would not want to detract from their quarterly report. Finally, it looks like INTC's report was just what the doctor ordered.

Neither Niles or Fortuna could possibly know what DELL's quarter is going to look like this far in advance unless they had DELL's order book. Fortuna admitted as much in the way his .21 and 7.1B numbers.
