re WAP

WAP is designed to allow web browsing on wireless devices.

WAP per se doesn't have limitations. It is a protocol designed to maximise the data potential of limited wireless bandwidth.

WAP has three components
1. A 'client', hosted on the handset
2. A 'server' - servicing multiple clients
3. A mark up language, WTML, which is used to create the WAP web pages.

WAPS current limitations?
a) web pages have to written in WTML (a problem not shared by web-clipping, which can go to 'standard' sites)
b) the relatively few WAP enabled sites (which will surely change)
