Interesting thought but you're mixing apples and oranges. The total value of the stock market is $15 Trillion, MSFT comprises 3.6% of that. The value of the US assets including non-stock assets might be $45 Trillion, so MSFT is 1% of that. Still pretty damn impressive I'll grant.

MSFT revenues of $22b is only 1/5 of one percent of the GDP or "national revenue". Your comparison fails to take into account MSFT dominates the world market for its software, and shouldn't be compared to US GDP, but world GDP of $40T instead, or .05% of that.
