``It's going to be a great quarter,' said Matthew Warburton of Warburg Dillon Read. ``The key point, though, is will the stock market really care? The market may not be so focused on earnings, but rather what OPEC will do over the next couple of months.'

OPEC's ministerial monitoring committee has already strongly recommended extending the supply cuts past their expiration this spring. If they are extended, analysts said, crude oil prices should remain strong over the coming months, and that could have a powerful effect on oil companies' stocks and future earnings.

E&P's - better pick your ponies boys; not much time left before the starting gate flys open & its off to the races...

The Independant E&P's like UPR OEI XTO PXD NBL EOG BR APA do not have the chemical side of the business like many of the integrateds above - they are more purely leveraged to commodity prices.

PS - Natural Gas has rallied back to close today at $2.32 - not too shabby.
