Okay, here's another school story. In that same algebra class, which was kind of an "in" deal, and very creative (and we cared so much we'd stay up till midnight calling each other trying to solve the math problems for the next day), well in class he'd usually have us pass our papers around, and you'd get someone else's paper to grade while we worked through the problems on the board. So whenever any of us in our little group got (well I won't say her first name just her last name) Greenwald's paper, we'd scratch out "Greenwald" and put "Brainwald" and under it we'd write, Wall to Wall Brains. (She was the dumbest of the lot.) One of my close friends, Sarah, for some reason I'd scratch out her name and replace it with "Dootie." Yes, I was 12 years old and isn't that embarrassing? I think it was because my younger brother who was about 2 was in a stage of using that word often. One day our teacher, in the middle of the class, was asking a question and he looked at the class to see who he wanted to call on and he looked at Sarah and said, "Can you answer that, Dootie?" There was stunned silence in the classroom before everyone realized what had happened and we all practically fell off our chairs laughing. Sarah blushed but took it in good humor. Now, that was a great teacher. He went right along with us!
