w molloy, unless we are technical wizards in the field we can at best speculate on this complex matter. I'll say this much: reading that article whose link you posted sure gave me a bad taste in my mouth re: IDC. Everything you read is how they are so much better than the Q and about their relationship with NOK which gets touted right and left. I wish I had the technical knowledge to tear apart their claims about WCDMA. What does bother me is how they seem to claim WCDMA as their invention when we know its just another standard with Qualcomm's tech at its heart. It is looking like there will be more legal hassles for Q as IDC seems to think they have their due coming for 3G while Q says IDC has nothing they need. Unfortunately the financial incentive is there for these companies to use the courts for whatever gain they can. Claude (rhymes with TOAD)
