Have you considered your Internet service?
Yup. Tried 5 seperate ISP's. They all use different routing, all have decent ping times, and all have Qcharts lock up at least once a day (usually 2-3 times a day. I'm even buying a faster (& better quality) computer hoping that might help.) I've also experimented with forcing qcharts to point to specific servers hoping to find one that is reliable. Herndon servers seem better in general despite the fact they have measurably slower ping times.

I'd switch from Qcharts if I could find anything better. So far nothing available over the internet sounds any more reliable. There is no direct data service available from my home. Not even satellite.

I tried RT3 and for my trading style a 56k modem simply could not handle the data. Qcharts has amazing compression, at least 10x better than RT3.

As I just posted I realize I should get a backup charting package and at least learn the basics so I can function when qcharts dies. However I would still need to recognize qcharts has died, try changing servers (usually works) then call up the alternate charting program. Still not a nice thing to happen in the middle of a trade.

Thats why I'd much rather quote.com figure out the source of the problem and fix it.
