Re: "Mani's recollection of 2H 2000 is simply wrong."

kash,

My recollection of the 3Q conference call guidance wrt Dresden was for volume shipments to commence in 2h 00. I think Mani is correct.

Ask yourself this. Would GTW be stupid enough to fall into the same hole twice? With their very negative statements regarding Intel and the amount of national TV advertising being done on behalf of the Athlon I would have to belive that they know a lot more about Dresden then we do. Once bitten twice shy.

Kash Re <<Mani's recollection of 2H 2000 is simply wrong.>>

Nope.

No VOLUME shipment out of Dresden till 2H 2000. Sanders repeated this in the last two CC over and over. There is no question in my mind. Maybe on Sunday I dig up the posts summarizing the CC. I repeat, There was nothing new about the article.

Kash, Elmer and ajbrenner, CHEERS!

Mani

Mani's recollection of 2H 2000 is simply wrong.

That's not correct...I heard it too. The earliest shipments will start is Q2 but volume shipments would not happen until the second half. In fact the SEC report, filed 11/1/99, say shipments would commence "no earlier than Q2, 2000" and you know that's legalese for we are going to try and ship by Q2 but don't hold your breath".

At the last conf call and analysts call their guidance was 2Q 2000 when first revenues from dresden would be realized.

Kash, you need to read that blurb again in the EETimes...first the guy was the product marketing director....he knows nada about production and all he is concerned about is satisfying his customers. That means when he talks about productions he is not going to be as detailed and specific as the production director. Secondly and this point should really be first, he said that AMD is meeting the demands of its customers. And that's all that I want to hear.

Fab 25 I believe has more capacity to produce more product...I think its at 70% capacity currently. If Fab 25 can meet customers demands thru 2001, then I don't give a flying f*ck what Dresden is doing.

So, then, why are you freaked out?
