Tom Taulli, a financial analyst for Internet.com, believes it will be decades before people will spend the money
for an avalanche of digital gadgets and the home network.

To buy this technology could easily add up to tens of thousands of dollars per home. For this new vision to reach
into large numbers of homes, the cost must come down dramatically.

"Nearly no one has the resources of Bill Gates to jazz up their house with the latest and greatest technology,"
Taulli said. "This won't be adopted by mainstream Americans as quickly as they adopted the Internet. This is a
much bigger undertaking than just buying a computer and plugging it into a phone socket and cruising the
Web."
