EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 3, 1999--Ask Jeeves, Inc. (Nasdaq:ASKJ - news), today announced that Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, the lead managing underwriter for Ask Jeeves' initial public offering, will release approximately 1.5 million shares of Ask Jeeves common stock held by various stockholders (excluding the officers, directors and employees of the corporation) from the applicable lock-up restrictions. The shares will be released on December 7, 1999, subject to compliance with federal and state securities laws. The 1.5 million shares represent approximately 5% of the total outstanding shares of Ask Jeeves common stock.
