Annette, I live in S. California and the way I see it when the big earthquake comes, S. Ca. and Baja Mexico will break off just below L.A. and slide sideways into the ocean as a long narrow island. QCOM headquarters and their sports stadium and a lot of rich surfers would inhabit the island. It could happen so you might want to buy your land west of the San Andreas fault and join us.
