The experts in the annual conference of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International recently predicts that the big American high-tech companies will purchase much more semiconductor products at lower price in the future decade. In 2000, chip industry outsourcing revenue will grow 43% to reach $25 billion.

According to Dataquest, semiconductor outsourcing currently has a market share of about 12%, but will increase to about 40-50% by 2010, which will greatly reduce the manufacturing cost and chip price.
