Dell-icious,

Sheesh, the first time I ever give an earnings estimate and I get whacked!

BTW, I didn't say I knew, just that given MSFT's recent past, a 16% earnings increase is way too low. By all accounts, this has been a great quarter, and a 16% or even 25% increase won't cut it. Of course, this is all MHO. As far as "irresonsible speculation", we'll see Tues.

Checked your profile. I see we've both been actively trading since 98 and you're a FT trader at 30. And I thought I was doing well. How long you been at it FT? Owning Dell wouldn't have anything to do with it, would it? Congrats.

Chetman

Well, how do I know ? Just look at Intel's number then you will know !!! every PC run with Intel's CPU will most likely install one copy of Microsoft's OS. Every server powered by Intel's CPU will most likely install Microsoft's OS. Plus the upgrade from Win95 to Win98, from office 97 to office 2k. The AMD's sales will most likely had similar performance as Intel's , but in the low end market . Add all this up , you may come out a number. Don't forget , this is the result of the Christmas and new year seasons , which is the season consumers most likely buy new pcs !!! The release of win2k will not
help intel's sales in 2k but all the semiconductors , including Memory !!! i.e MU !!!
