According to BestCalls.com, Microsoft has surprised in the last 5 quarters by an average of 13.6%. Based on the earnings estimate of .42 this quarter, the actual earnings could come in at .48.

sorry, but i'm not that optimistic. i think the number will be about 45 cents. remember we are comparing with december 98 which beat estimates by a whopping 7 cents and the prior year by over 76%.

Well I might as well throw my guess out there also.
I will stab at 52 cents, along with bullish guidance for the next quarter. I think coming in below the whisper number after INTC's numbers might prove to be somewhat of a negative on near term performance (unless it is followed by very bullish comments during the call).

Regards,

Gary

taxman, that's prob too low and will not be greeted well by the street. They need to do at least 47 cents to move the stock, esp with the DOJ case hanging over them. Bullish guidance on earnings and W2K wouldn't hurt either, as they are usually pretty cautious on the CC.
