Read "The Death of Money", written in '92...paper currency is merely 'Script'. The book is hard to find/outta print, but worth finding. The 'good Faith and Credit'?...Amen.

Tommaso: Ugly is it not? Like you, I now check Fed activity DAILY, and come away shaking my head. Either Greenspan has become senile (and the wording of some of his recent speeches more than suggests this), or he is desperately dealing with a (derivatives?) problem of which we are unaware. I thought we would witness an immediate and fairly disciplined "draining", once the Y2k worries evaporated. I should have known better. "Easy Al" appears to be determined to drive this bus over the edge of the abyss. Best, Earlie
