re MDR----Merrill Lynch report of Jan 11 on oil field services industry--"MDR is the most intriguing story..estQ4 of 17c to be reported Mar 1 but company will likely have something to say on the asbestos issue prior to Mar 1---based on recent due diligence, we are getting the sense that the (asbestos) liability can be contained at B&W (the sub), thus lifting a significant cloud from the stock"----my take is that earnings don't matter until about $17 on the stock, so with the shares now at 10.38 there is still substantial upside on just a resolution of the AB issue alone ---Let's go folks, I need 13 to break even here and the first gap to be filled is at 13.50(vbg)!--SSB estimates calandar 2000eps of 1.70 and 2.15 for 2001 btw
