Hi RocketMan

I'm doing just fine thank you for asking. I just read your post and it contains information about numerous subjects so let me try to pick off a few at random.

My own opinion is that it is a waste of time to spend $1300 or even $1 on a TA program unless you are a trader

I'm not sure if you would qualify me as being a trader but I make between 5 to 20 trades per week depending on the market and I base my entries and exits almost exclusively on charts. I've never spent 1 dime on TA lessons. I'm sure that much is obvious. <g>

I use daily charts (askResearch) on Sunday to find a list of possible stocks to buy and I put this list on my RT quotes streamer for watching Monday and Tuesday. If one or two look really strong in pre-market I will load them into "RT 1 minute tick x tick L-II charts" with a few indicators set up and buy and sell the stock based on those signals. I post this list on Sunday for others who wish to use it as a fishing hole.

It is also blown out of the water by news, and loses its value the further out one goes, you almost have to look at it every day.

You are on target in that news will blow TA away if it is big and unexpected news. I personally look at the daily charts using RT askResearch as many as 15 or 20 times per day as they are always up to date or "live". The RT lets me confirm signals that Im seeing on my tick x tick charts.

From what I saw for Qcom, it is several days away from signaling a buy

I think you read this already but this contains my thoughts about Q for the near term.
