FWIW. In spite of all of the shorting strategies being discussed, I'm not interested in investing in a fund that could put me in the poor house.

Best wishes,

I2

USPIX shorts QQQ x 2. (beta = neg 1.45 x 2 = -2.90 ~ -3)
Your beta calculation of -1.45 is against the Nasdaq I presume or is it against the S and P 500?

I agree that used as a market bet, this fund is extreme. IMHO, used as a hedge, this fund can provide peace of mind while your multibeta internet mutual funds ride out the volitility.

MrGreenJeans,

Curiously, I have been tracking this fund for awhile and have come to the conclusion that in a bear market you can easily make significant amounts of money with this fund and if your forecast is off you can pack your bags and go to the poor house assuming you have any possessions left.

Bingo!
