When I was in North Carolina visiting my sister, my niece (college freshman) was receiving 35 emails each day from her college friends. BTW, they live in the Research Triangle and connection was at 1.5 megabits per second. It really didn't seem to help the pages load faster, frankly. I downloaded aol from the net, and used the local connection to aol with which I was familar and which had the urls for SI and other investment stuff to keep me up to date.
