Price to earnings ratios are a moving target.
They are affected by interest rates and the
certainty or uncertainty of future earnings expectations.

I suspect that the IBM conference call, on
01-19-2000, will focus on the outstanding extent
to which International Business Machines shall
transform itself into an e-business juggernaut
during this, the twenty-first century.

I get my numbers from MS Investor ( moneycentral.msn.com )
because you can download 5 years' financial statements at a time.

I use Print Report and copy the data to Excel for the earnings and then create a chart for the share prices of those 5 years, which I then export, again to Excel. I use the average share price for each year for the PE calculation.
