James does very well with his investing, thank you, and he doesn't have to sit at a computer all day to do so. Does beating up on him make you and your ilk feel better?

LB, I doubt that anyone here has serious objection to the codes...

I think it's more a case of some of us getting a kick out of the idea that grown people could be inveigled into going to all that trouble... on a stock chat line. I had some code training in the service, but the last time before that was when I was a kid and sent in my box-top's to get secret decoder rings, badges, etc. from Captain Midnight and from Tom Mix. Back then, it seemed really important to be able to know what was coming up in the next program, and you couldn't decode the clue without your secret badge, or ring, or signaling mirror. It was lot of fun, and now-a-days those premiums command a high price as collectibles on eBay.

But the thing is ... I grew up.

The way I see it, the encryption stuff is just one more thing that makes this thread a fun place to be around. You never know what's coming next. I see from an earlier post by "Bob" that homophobia has come in. We haven't had any racism yet, and that would liven things up. I agree that the thread isn't as interesting without Tim, but as long as you loyalists continue to come up with these new ideas, I don't have any concern about the thread dying.

Regards,

J.C.
