An article in the Globe&Mail covers Friday's surge - analysts attribute increase to rumours that COG may be taken over, or could be planning financing to make more acquisitions. COG has denied - rumours of a merger with LGS Group. Both companies have denied - rumours of buyout by CGI Group. There is no mention of a comment from Cognicase. CGI says it does not comment on rumours - analyst Damon Rinaldi at First Albany suspects it may not be related to takeover speculation at all. He said the company has successfully transitioned from being a Y2K company to an IT company and that the share price increase was long overdue.
