Background noise. Look at all the people who were absolutely convinced that November and December 1999 were going to be terrible months to be invested with all the Y2K worries. Look at what tremendous gains they left on the table because of their certainty that things would fall apart. This obsession with every speech Greenspan makes and every 25 basis points one way or another has nothing to do with investing. JDSU is poised to make tremendous gains over the next decade, and although there will be guaranteed corrections in the market in general and JDSU's stock price in particular, trying to time these gyrations will lead most to the nuthouse or the poorhouse or both. Buy and hold, and we'll check again in 2005. MGG
