'Gentlemen, start your engines!'Races Once in a while we go to the car races. There are certain drivers that usually win. Some people have strong emotions toward and some have strong emotions against these certain drivers. The strong emotions do not seem to effect outcomes as much, if at all, compared to the skill of the drivers and their set-up crews. Emotions do contribute to popularity of the sport and this makes the sport a 'money maker' for the sponsors. When races first start there are often big crashes as many cars bolt for the lead and merge at high speed into an ever narrowing space. Even top contending drivers are knocked out of the race, and not always for lack of skill, but lady luck really does play her hand as well. After these crashes, sometimes a top contender will be in last place. Sometimes a no name driver gets the sweet spot. In a long race, skill comes into play, regardless of lady lucks capricious nature. When they wave the checkered flag, there is one winner, but fail not to remember, there is a second, a third, a fourth, etc. And, there are points totaled for the season. A winner may lose the season though they've won a race. Sometimes a field leader needs a defeat to jolt them back to reality and gear themselves and their team up to really beat the competition.BroadBand The season is yet early. Many of the Wall Street 'fans' do not really understand the players or the game as well as they purport to. For all of the pundits 'de-liberating' commentary toward some underdogs, the drivers are the ones pounding the pavement and working on the points. The points will tell the story as the season wears on. He who is first will not always finish this way. He who is last will not always finish this way. Winners attract a lot of approval. So do underdogs when they start winning. ATHM has spun out and been passed. It is still a race. They are still very much in the competition. Points will become increasingly visible as the season wears on. Pundits will always abound because like them or not they add to the dynamic tensions of the game. Fans? They can be very loyal. They can also be won with an exceptional team effort. Let's not forget that @home has proved to win AOL fans over. I'd like management to pound the AOL turncoat to ATHM service fact again next week. Ram home the point that AOL has not made a brilliant move because they are sharp, they've done what they absolutely have to -to avoid becoming a dinosaur because of ATHM's gaining popularity with internet users. With a strategy such as this they can try to turn a negative into a positive. Then expound upon what ATHM is and will do to set the standard and offer VALUE for the money people spend for BB.
