1. Where can I get pricing on options on the web?
Check the thread header, there are some links there. Try cboe.
2. Do you need a broker to buy and sell options? Or can you use your online account (Waterhouse for me)?
You can use your on-line account, but it has to be authorized to trade options. Check with Waterhouse, they will probably have you fill out some information and send it in before they authorize it.
3. Are LEAPs just call options with much longer expire dates?
Yes, call and puts with longer times, one or two years out. But that makes all the difference. The book by Roth, "Leaps" is excellent, you can get it from Amazon, and its stockholders will subsidize its price for you :-)

KY,

Welcome to the thread. Please feel free to ask questions as you learn.

I use Waterhouse for options, but I'm not very happy with them because it's hard to get accurate quotes on the Web. There's been a discussion about various brokers here. If you go back to a week or two ago, you'll be able to read it all.

Also re. Waterhouse: Go to "quotes", then to "option chain", click on "short form" and enter the ticker symbol for the stock.

We've also got the option chain from Dreyfus in our header. I like it much better than Waterhouse's.

Hi folks...can you try NOT to use fixed font (uncheck it under the box when you're writing?) Taxman probably had to use it for his 64 page call portfolio, but in general it's hard to read.

Please go to our thread header, it answers all your questions.

Thanx
Jill
