Terrapin: Your question of which CDMA handset and / or infrastructure manufacturer you might invest in a few years from now is fascinating in showing the focus of at least some Nokia investors.

Qualcomm is the key to CDMA and hands down the best investment related to CDMA.

A handset or infrastructure manufacturer is a second best choice.

And much more risky, since there is no sure way to know in advance which of the many competitors will do best.

That is not a question with Qualcomm. The Q wins whenever any use of CDMA happens by anyone, anywhere. This is hard to grasp, but real.

And it includes now, and especially as data becomes more central to wireless, as the wireless / internet nexus becomes the key, and when the 3rd gen happens - which will be CDMA in one flavor or another. The Q just rakes in the chips on it all.

Perhaps this is difficult for GSM centric investors to understand and appreciate since there is no company comparable to the Q in the GSM field.

No company sits astride the GSM technology as the Q does for CDMA.

Best.
