Thanks for the note - I suspected that they would have to be engineering
space diversity in the system, both to increase bandwidth and
for security. I also remember well the captain midnight hack.
But remember he didn't do that from home! He used an HBO
uplink he had access to; it required no technical sophistication
on his part.

I recognized Bob Luly's name on the iSky site; he was also
one of the pioneers in home satellite reception in the early
home experimenter days.
