Hi Jill, Thread:

I just started playing options about two month ago and have to learn a lot. Currently, I am just buying OTM calls, and as far away in time as possible. So far, I have bought June JDSU 150 and May SEBL 85. They seem to be doing OK.

I have a few questions.

I plan to buy June-August OTM calls in one or more of these: CREE, CNXT, RFMD, and NTAP. Any comments?

For deep in the money calls, do you usually just sell the call or buy the stock and sell, assuming say one month to expiration?

And what are the tax implications when I sell? Assuming five months of holding, how much tax do I generally pay?

Your comment are appreciated.
