It seems that the sentiment for ECG on the stockhouse.com thread is a lot more positive. I was ready to dump my shares until I visited their site and came across the following news release:

Envoy Launches Appstreet, Revolutionary ASD
Portal to Assist Software Developers

Appstreet to web-enable and rent proprietary
software for $20 billion Rentable Apps Market

Toronto, January 14, 2000 - The Envoy Communications Group (TSE:ECG) today launched
Appstreet, the first fully integrated portal and Application Service Developer (ASD) in the Rentable
Applications market, projected to reach the $20 billion mark by 2003. This announcement follows a
recent agreement with IBM to co-market Decision Room the proprietary Rentable Application of
Envoy's digital company, Devlin.

Unlike ASP's the Appstreet ASD will both develop and rent software products, providing the first
service of this kind to software developers. Appstreet partners with developers to bring their
software to the ASP market by first web enabling, then e-commerce enabling the product, and
testing it in Devlin's proprietary usability lab. Once the product is re-designed for web rental,
usability tested and e-commerce enabled, Appstreet.com will serve as the portal. Full marketing
services for the software will be provided both on and off-line. Appstreet will assist, not compete
with ASP's as a destination and a service, not simply a product.

The Rentable Applications market allows for business to business software, which currently
represents nearly 2/3 of all software sales, to be rented over the web. Small and medium sized
business without the resources for an IT department or customized business applications will, for
the first time be able to access an immense pool of applications for a monthly access fee.

Worldwide, the software industry will reach $116.1 billion in the next three years. Until now, only
large software developers with the ability and resources to web-enable their products have been
able to enter the Rentable Applications market. Appstreet opens the doors for all software
developers. There is an estimated 8,000 software product firms in Canada alone.

"As the Rentable Applications Market grows exponentially, software developers require the ability
to rent on-line in order to be competitive. Most cannot web-enable their software or cannot develop
the host portal for rent. Appstreet does both and provides Envoy with a much greater opportunity in
the ASP market than the development of a product or ASP does. We saw the opportunity to
leverage our expertise in both developing web-enabled software and designing the rental portal to
bring new software to the ASP market", stated Envoy President and CEO Geoff Genovese. "Not
only does Appstreet provide its partners with technological support vis-…-vis our web-enablement,
e-commerce and web-hosting expertise, but Appstreet offers its partners access to the Envoy
Group's industry leading e-marketing package, both on and off-line," he added.

"In evaluating the cost involved, and the lengthy process required to bring our own proprietary
Rentable App, Decision Room to market in conjunction with IBM Worldwide, we saw the need for a
full service portal that could assist software developers bring their products to market." said
Catharine Devlin, president of Devlin Applied Design. Adding, "when U.S. based developers began
contacting us for assistance in web-enabling their products, we designed Appstreet. This product
will revolutionize the industry by leveling the playing field for software developers.

Revenues will be achieved for Envoy and Devlin by partnering with developers at a fee for web
enabling, usability testing and e-commerce enabling the software. Once the software is enabled
and on the portal, Devlin will receive 30% of rental revenues. Currently Decision Room is available
on Appstreet.com. Appstreet is in the web-enabling stage of development of ## other software
products that will be available for rental at the portal imminently.

Award winning Devlin Applied Design devlin.ca is renowned for integrating technical,
psychological and usability needs with graphic design to create effective digital solutions for its list
of leading North American clients including CIBC, FedEx, SportsRocket.com, ProcureNet, Health
Canada, IMAX Corporation, MAC Cosmetics and PhoneFree.

Devlin is part of the Envoy Group of Companies envoy.to a new breed, integrated
e-Marketer, digitally driven and committed to building global brands both off and on-line. Devlin is an
IBM Best Team Member and Lotus Business Partner.

Cheers,

Ed B.

Sometimes it's hard to find this kind of thing, Edgar and Sedar don't always have it on file...Phone the Nasdaq itself and you will see if they filed or not...Do you actually think they would say that without filing???
