Yes, I have noticed. I guess to be a cashier you need one or more of the following qualifications:
- Be a mental midget,
- Have purple fingernails,
- Have at least 5 earrings on each ear,
- Mumbling gets extra points,
- Smiling should only be done when you pick up your pay check.

This is why I try to buy online.

I haven't checked, but do they have touch sensitive membranes on the McDonalds cash registers with pictures of the sandwiches on them? :-)
