<<I posted the federal statute along the state statute where Jas is located in.>>

In your professional opinion, would you say that Tim had a case ?

I have read Jas Cooper's postings also and have found no basis for any case (if any, the reverse might be true}. Can you cite specific grounds for any action ?

Please note: I have not had access to any PMs that may have transpired and thus cannot comment on anything actionable in them.

Seems as if you have been doing considerable legal research on behalf of Tim. As you know, better than I, when you bring a civil lawsuit you must prove monetary damages. Money is the sole remedy you are seeking (recall the O.J. Simpson civil trial). Perhaps you could explain to the thread how Tim would show that he has suffered monetary damages as a consequence of messages posted on Silicon Investor. Ideally, you could show us one or more of the posts that you believe would help convince a civil court jury of these monetary losses. I am not being facetious here; it would be of great interest to all SI posters to be given examples, along with an explanation, of how postings on internet message boards can result in civil liability. Thanks.

So what are you trying to say? Free speech is only for those who can afford it? In my opinion that would be very sad indeed.
