Fishweed: I'd be guessing if I said I had any clue as to what JDSU's price action will be after they announce earnings; can't give you any guidance there. All my JDSU shares are core LT holding and my feelings are as follows: (1) earnings announcement will be favorable; if they weren't, JDSU would have pre-announced; (2) acquisition of OCLI is more important than most people realize. JDSU is well on its way to achieving Kevin Kalkoven's goal of making JDSU a "one-stop shop" for any telecom company looking fiberoptic solution to their bandwidth problems; (3) most important, Kevin Kalkoven's acquisition binge has the effect of decreasing the amount of available scientific talent (physicists, laser engineers, etc.) in the laser/fiberoptic sector. This is the rate-limiting factor if other companies want to compete and stay abreast of JDSU. I still see JDSU as one of the most compelling tech holdings over the next 2-3 years.
