Poi: The Hawaiian staff of life. Made from cooked Taro pounded smooth and thinned with water.

<<...the important stuff - what type of clothing should we bring and, hehe, how many pairs of shoes?>> LOL

1) White high heals are the common foot wear for the black sand beaches and visa-versa.
2) Rubber boots for walking along the shore in the water to avoid the Puleleua dart fish.
3) Heavy duty calf-high leather boots for any activity that is not on the beach or pavement to avoid the vicious Mo'o-niho-'awa (scorpion)
4) Converse tennis shoes for the dance floor.

That should cover you for most things Carolyn.
