I have been lurking on this board for a long time and impressed with the MSFT knowledge here. Has anyone discussed the possibility of MSFT going to an "Open Source" software? Where they would make Windows available to all for free and charge for the service for the software. Just wondering about the possibilities. Not sure if this makes any sense. In some ways it would solve the DOJ problem and the Linux problem at the same time. It doesn't make sense with the amount of time and money they have spent on W2000.

Any thoughts?
