Congratulations, Rushnomore, and welcome to the thread! Reading the fm would have been a good first step, but being confident in your nest egg and your ability to grow it is a reasonable substitute <gg>. Now that you're going to have some time on your hands, maybe you can look at one of the stock projects jobs that Thudydidies is looking to staff.

Good to have you here, Slow & Easy.

You won't have time to read a book 'til you quit your day job? You are using this thread as your guidepost? I would seriously reconsider my plan, if I were you. Something is amiss. Of course, I don't know your circumstances, which may explain your odd decisions, but I recommend you count to 1,000,000 before you do anything you can't reverse immediately.

Do your own DUE DILIGENCE, rushnomore!

Rushnomore:

Love your name! I have to confess, I could learn from you just based on your name alone.

In my case, it is, in this order:
read the thread
quit my day job
buy the book.

At first, I was a little concerned to read this, and was going to admonish you and hope you knew what you were doing. But I see from your profile that you're 65 years of age, and that quitting was probably in the cards independent of this thread. Buying and reading the book is a good start, and no lurker should rely just on this thread alone. The other thing we usually encourage the newbies to do is to go back to the start around March, and read all of the messages to date. This is time-consuming, but extremely instructive, and worthwhile, IMHO.

Good luck,
Apollo
