GOLDMAN SACHS TO SET UP CREDIT RATING AGENCY IN KOREA SEOUL - Goldman
Sachs would become the first foreign company to advance into the credit
information and rating industry here, a Financial Supervisory
Commission (FSC) official said Tuesday. Goldman Sachs applied for a
license to set up a credit information company in a joint venture with
affiliate Archon Group last week. The U.S. financial company took over
Korean non-performing loans worth US$700 million from the Korea Asset
Management Corp last year.

Korea Thrunet Announces A New SVP of Strategic Planning

SEOUL, Korea, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Korea Thrunet (Nasdaq: KOREA - news) today announced that Jae Hyun Lee, a former Vice President of the Boston Consulting Group, has joined Korea Thrunet as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning.

Mr. Lee is responsible for corporate strategy development and implementation, new business development, strategic alliances, and mergers and acquisitions. He will be reporting directly to President Jong-Kil Kim.

Prior to joining Korea Thruent, Mr. Lee was Vice President of Boston Consulting Group Korea, which he joined in 1992. He was in charge of technology, media convergence, and e-commerce practices for the Seoul office. He led diverse strategies, corporate development, and organization projects for clients both in the US and Asia. He received his BA degree from Brown University and MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Lee joined the Korea Thrunet executive team, which includes Jong-Kil Kim, President and Chief Executive Officer; Boo-Woong Yoo, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; and Do-Jin Kim, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
