Tokyo, Jan. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Softbank Corp., Japan's
largest Internet service company, said it will form a new joint
venture to provide electronic commerce. The company will hold a
news conference at 4 p.m. Japan time to discuss the details.

The move is the latest in a series of Internet commerce
joint ventures the Tokyo-based company has been establishing. The
company said last week its Softbank Investment unit will take a
10 percent stake in a virtual convenience store planned by
retailer Sunkus & Associates Inc. and others.

Shares rose as much as 5.5 percent to 95,900 yen, their
exchange-imposed limit.
NYSE/AMEX delayed 20 min. NASDAQ delayed 15 min.
