>Hey Kis, one of our SI guy's gets indicted in Texas.

thats because he was stupid. in order to break securities laws with impunity, you must offer cushy jobs to SEC regulators. this is a fact.

the SEC is the most pathetic excuse for a regulatory body we've ever had- they spend millions going after small time fraudsters, but turn a blind eye when the biggest financial frauds (internet ipos) are being flipped within seconds of hitting the market by underwriters. or rampant book-cooking at practically every internut company, or refusal to allow the public to listen into conference calls, or selective disclosure to analysts who can trade on the news ahead of their clients, the list goes on and on.

but the sad fact is, everyone who is getting away with it is simply bribing the sec.

i've never seen an organization so corrupt since i visited mexico and had a run-in with the local police force. luckily i had a bit of cash in my wallet. their motto is not "you have the right to remain silent, you have a right to an attorney".. it is literally "How much money do you have? How much money can you have wired in from the US?"

HJ, interesting article on my favorite poster-I-love-to-hate. Here's my favorite quote:

"They (government agents) use me like a scrub brush; I volunteer, make tapes, risk my life, carry a gun, deal with scumbags and criminals, and
then some guy in Texas decides to pull something out," Elgindy says. "I (feel) betrayed."

Where are friends when you need them?
