PB, thanks for posting the Intel capital site. Some random comments:

$8 Billion dollars total portfolio value! Holy Batman!

Isn't this function, or activity kind of unique for a big tech company, at least in its magnitude? Microsoft also comes to mind.

I didn't see CMGI. Did they sell it all? (Don't expect you to have to answer this).

They have Ariba but no Commerce 1. I always hear those two mentioned first in B2B company discussions.

They have three DSL CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange
Carrier) companies, like Covad, so I thought Intel might favor DSL for the last mile. Then I saw they also have At Home Partners, general partnership. Is that Excite-At Home, which is big in cable I wonder? Nothing wrong with investing in each of two gorilla possibilities.

Name 'Intel Capital', mimicking GE Capital? Sounds like a good, safe, conservative name.

Any tracking stock consideration going on at Intel, I wonder? Louis Holland, guest panelist on Wall Street Week last Friday pointed out that, with a tracking stock, the management of the tracked entity remains the same. This is vs. a spin - off, where there is distinct management for the new company. So, it could remain under Andy and Craig, where it seems to be doing OK, to say the least!
