Alot of this article is not correct and is slanted journalism. DDI?IDO was 14.4k packet data in 1998 when they got it started, but they have since moved onto 64k packet data and are very close to introducing 186k packet data. NTT using 9.6, implies that they are using the same TDMA system tey had before. they could advertise that they had 32k bps in PHS, but then the coverage is so bad they wouldn;t. As for movies, I do not think the industry will EVER allow downloading of video in digital form as it is too easy to spawn copies.
