Chris, what a perfect coincidence that you should post this article. A few days ago, I read a series of articles about optics posted on the MRVC thread in which all optical computers were discussed in one section. A key part of these were Vertical Cavity Light-Emitting Lasers which are fabricated from a Galium Arsenide base. ee.ic.ac.uk Do you know if this is an entirely different manufacturing process from GaAs chips or could VTSS make these if it so chose?
