gregor and Jane, I know this is a prayer thread, but I pray you don't mind if I throw my two cents in. Jesus says that all is summed up in two. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. " IMO, when a body of people start to take this scripture down off the wall, and put it in body/soul/mind/heart, then God moves. Not that all take it all at once, but as it is given. Big programs and big buildings and big budgets and all that does not impress God. He owns it all anyway. But big/right thinking as above? Yes, then God can use us. Then God can mold us. I see that happening where I assemble with the saints. The First thing I saw happen was prayer... by a group of elders that figured out that worrying about the Zerox budget was not why they were called. They were called to pray and shepherd over the flock. When this started, God began to move in our congregation. The second thing I saw happen was men and women that wanted to knock down walls and quit acting like the gospel was a closely guarded secret and only we had the right "keys" to unlock the mystery...how arrogant of us. It is Good News and others want to hear it. So our ministers started preaching the good news and not here is our style . All the while never leaving the truths of the Bible. Well, that is a short version of some of the ,why our congregation, is growing story. Thanks for the space to do so. God bless PS: Thanks for the prayers by all for my mom. I printed all these and will give them to her today. Is not our God Awesome in this place? dan
